Bio

Ian Imrie was born and raised in Barrie Ontario Canada and first started with stand up comedy while in university. His start on stage proved to be successful by taking home best new comic in Barrie and hosted for one of Canada’s greats, Mike MacDonald, a tremendous honour for such a young comic. But it was his Jay Leno exposure in 2001, “The Tonight Show Side Show”, that took him to the next level by jumping into the acting community and left behind a very promising career in teaching. Once he headed to Toronto for his acting training he found himself at Second City. He spent a year training improv and even found himself performing shows across the city with his troupe. It was then S.A.R.S. started to plagued Toronto’s acting industry and so he decided to uproot his east coast home and move to Vancouver B.C. in 2003. Since then he has continued working with some of Canada’s greatest comedic talent and landed some of his own accolades with a 2005 Best Performance award for his commercial performance in the BC Lion’s “Vending Machine”. It found itself on NBC’s “The Most Outrageous TV Moments”, featured on Ellen as well as going viral with 16 million views with YouTube’s “4 Banned Commercials”.

Today, it’s all about keeping busy with his beautiful wife and two sons. There has been a lot of activity in putting together a tour for 2013 with “Comics on the Run”. It may very well be the tour that takes comedy to a whole new level. Take a peek at what that ian guy has going on and share the good word.

Such talent comes along once in a while, maybe every other day or so, but never twice on a Tuesday. Famous for his Yuk-yuks comedy club routine, you really need to keep an eye on this rising star!
